Governor Peter Munya’s home in Kaaga, Meru County, was on Sunday night raided by a gang of thugs who cut through live and chain link fences in order to gain access to the compound.
Simon Kobia, the County Director of Communications said that the robbers smashed a window of the governor’s official security car and stole its’ battery.

Munya’s official vehicle, which was in the parked in the compound at the time of the incident was not touched, neither was his house.
Even as preliminary investigations indicate that the robbery could have been an inside job, many can’t help but wonder why the robbers risked their lives to steal a car battery.
